The White House just confirmed, ahead of schedule, that GM would receive $4 billion in further bailout funds. GM was set to submit its plan for viability tomorrow, and the government was set to decide before March 31st whether GM’s plan was suitable. The White House confirmed that GM would receive the aid.

Chrysler is seeking less than GM, and its request has not yet been granted by the White House. It will be considered separately.
